The "You" Month

March seems to be an in-between month, a time before things kick off. So let’s take this time to work on ourselves.  The pursuit of a better self is never ending much like laundry or dishes.  While that may seem discouraging, understand that bettering one’s self is always evolving.  There is a great quote “You’re alway making the best choice based on your current understanding.  Don’t try to change the choice - change the understanding.” -Unknown.

We currently live in the best age for information sharing.  There is a boundless amount of resources such as youtube and podcasts to name a few on how to improve your life in any aspect you choose. You have your board categories of life, body health, mental health, financial health and spiritual health.  Within these you can go down a rabbit hole of possibilities but the key factor in all of them is your training.  Most people think of working out when talking about training but all aspects of your life need training. You must train yourself not to abundantly spend money but to save for the long term reward.  You must train yourself to eat healthy, like following the rule of 80% healthy and 20% of what you want.  You must train your devotion to your spiritual beliefs.  Being a good person can be difficult and focusing on it 2-3 times a week keeps you on task.  Success in all these things comes down to consistency. Consistency can be small steps. Reading 10 pages a day will get you to the end of a book, but so will 5 pages a day. Reading zero pages will not, so stay consistent in the practice.  You may not see results day to day or week to week but look back 3 months and see how far you have come.

Thank you and be well.
