Bellefonte Art Museum

SPECIAL FEATURE

It's a Small World.                                       Special Exhibition Gallery – March 1 – April 28

Some artists or curators use miniature replicas of museums/galleries when planning an exhibition. This provides a visual representation of the artwork and its relationship to each other and the space. In April of 2020, artist Karen Deutsch was creating a miniature gallery in preparation for an upcoming show when the Corona Virus spread across the globe and changed everyone’s plans.

Discover what happened when she inspired a group of artists and craftsmen to band together and create a miniature museum. From abstract and fiber art to portraits and landscapes, see these miniature works of art on display in eight individual miniature galleries.

Exhibiting Artists include: Leslie Dyer, Karen Deutsch, Christine Hill, Jeff Mathison, Jen Rand, Martha Taylor, Adrienne Waterston, and Erin Welch.

Pint-Sized Posies

When Bellefonte resident Lori Fisher decided to transform a portion of her back yard into a wildflower garden, she had no idea it would unlock a passion for flower farming and simultaneously launch a new home business.

Pint-Sized Posies, a self-serve flower cart offering pint-sized posies and accessories, began popping up the summer of 2023. This mobile cart could be found most Saturdays at her home residence in Bellefonte, but soon made its way to several downtown businesses and local events. With a whole lot of passion, and a creative spirit, Lori continues to grow her business with a full schedule of pop-ups and events, custom orders, special posie packages, and a new delivery service for downtown Bellefonte business owners in 2024. You can stay up to date with this new adventure, plus keep track of the mobile cart schedule by following @pintsizedposiesbft on Instagram.

You’ll quickly see this little cart packs a mighty big punch…a posie punch that is!

Museum Hours:

The Bellefonte Art Museum for Centre County has created a vibrant community for the arts serving families, artists, and patrons while making a positive social and economic impact on Happy Valley.

Six galleries and a gift shop rotate monthly and feature artworks by local artists, including a unique display window allowing visitors to view art from outside the building. In addition, the Special Exhibitions Gallery brings unique art shows from near and far to enrich our community and highlight art from other places and cultures.

Housed in a historic property in Bellefonte, the Linn House attracts visitors for the art and programs, as well as for the historic quality of the house. “A Journey to Freedom” is a permanent exhibition commemorating the role of our region in the operations of the Underground Railroad.
